Egypt's Pavilion at OTDYKH LEISURE Wins Distinguished Participation Award

The Egyptian pavilion at the 25th edition of OTDYKH LEISURE 2019, an international trade fair for travel and tourism in Moscow, won on Monday the distinguished participation award. 

Mohamed Abdel Ghany, a representative of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), received the award. 

Egypt's pavilion was inaugurated by Ambassador to Moscow Ihab Nasr alongside with an ETA delegation.

The event brought 870 exhibitors from 50 countries worldwide in the attendance of 17,000 visitors. 

The pavilion included interactive screens which displayed promotional content for Egypt's hotspots like Sharm El Sheikh, Siwa, Marsa Alam, Hurghada, Luxor, and Aswan as a part of Branding by Destination campaign. 

These screens provide information and images of each destination separately in the Russian language as well as virtual reality headsets which show 3D images about various places.

Banners of the Grand Egyptian Museum campaign (GEM 2020) decorated the pavilion which caught the attention of many visitors, expressing their great admiration for the interactive activities there. 

During the event, several meetings were held. A meeting with representatives of the Association of TourOperators of Russia (AROR) was held to tackle Egypt's readiness for resuming charter flights with Russia. 

Also, meetings with Russian tour operators like Anex Tours, Coral Travel, TUI, and TEZ tour were held to promote the Egyptian destinations in the Russian tourism market.

In the same context, some media meetings were held with representatives of tourist newspapers such as Tourprom and Profi Travel. 

These meetings discussed the strategy adopted by the Tourism Ministry, which is based on the use of modern technology and modernization of tourism promotion mechanisms for Egypt besides reviewing axes of GEM 2020, Branding By Destination, and PeopletoPeople campaigns in addition to voicing the interest in active and meaningful participation in the international tourism exhibitions.
