Hossam Hassan, the Egyptian national team coach, is considering calling up Haitham Hassan, who plays for Real Oviedo in Spain, for the national team's training camp next March. The camp will include friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Spain in Doha, as part of Egypt's preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The coaching staff wants to observe the player closely during the upcoming camp to determine whether he will continue representing Egypt or be dropped from consideration if they are not satisfied with his performance.

The technical staff of the Egyptian national football team, led by the twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, had previously sent an official summons letter to the player Haitham Hassan, who plays professionally for the Spanish club Real Oviedo, in preparation for his presence in the camp last October in preparation for the matches against Djibouti and Guinea in the ninth and tenth rounds of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals. However, the player’s failure to complete his paperwork, especially his passport, as he holds both French and Egyptian nationalities, prevented him from joining last October.
