FIFA has tentatively agreed to increase prize money and participation fees for the 2026 World Cup, a move reflecting its response to concerns raised by several national federations regarding the rising costs of participation.

FIFA had previously announced a record $727 million in prize money, guaranteeing each of the 48 participating teams at least $10.5 million, while the tournament champion will receive $50 million.
