Egypt’s national football team has arrived in the United States after a flight lasting more than 12 hours, as the Pharaohs continue their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The squad, led by head coach Hossam Hassan and team director Ibrahim Hassan, landed in the US ahead of a high-profile international friendly against Brazil on 6 June.
The delegation is headed by Khaled El-Darandali, vice-president of the Egyptian Football Association.
The friendly against Brazil is expected to be one of Egypt’s final tests before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, providing the coaching staff with an opportunity to assess the squad against one of the tournament favourites.
Egypt travelled with a 26-man squad featuring several of the country’s leading stars, including Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Emam Ashour.
Goalkeepers in the squad include Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, El Mahdy Soliman and Mohamed Alaa.
Defensive options include Mohamed Hany, Tarek Alaa, Hamdy Fathy, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Ahmed Fattouh and Karim Hafez.
The midfield unit features Marwan Attia, Mohannad Lasheen, Nabil Emad Dunga, Mahmoud Saber, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Emam Ashour, Mostafa Abdelraouf Zico, Trezeguet, Ibrahim Adel, Haitham Hassan and Mohamed Salah.
In attack, Egypt will rely on Omar Marmoush and Hamza Abdelkarim as they prepare for the global tournament.
