Egypt's Mufti Participates in Parliamentary Elections

Egypt's Grand Mufti Dr. Shawki Allam was keen to cast his vote in Beheira governorate, on the first day of parliamentary elections kicked off earlier today Saturday across 14 different governorates.

After voting, Allam stressed that participating in the democratic elections, including the parliamentary ones, stems from our love and belonging and loyalty to our homeland.

He added that positive and active participation in national elections is considered a 'national duty'.

It is worth mentioning that, the first stage of the parliamentary elections kicked off earlier today Saturday, across Egyptian governorates.

The National Elections Authority coordinates with the concerned government agencies to secure the election process.

Police forces are deployed in the streets, while the Interior Ministry raised the level of preparedness to secure the election process.

The re-runs of the first stage will be held for Egyptians abroad from November 21 to 23 and in Egypt on November 24 and 25.
