Magdy Salah, Professor of Roads and Transportation, Faculty of Engineering said that the high-speed electric monorail speed will not be less than 250 kilometers per hour.

Salah added that the monorail project is a step forward in the field of transporting passengers and goods in Egypt.

He pointed out in a phone-in to the “Salet el-Tahrir” program broadcast on the “Sada el-Balad” channel that the high-speed train project has become a topic of interest among Egyptians, as it's one of the most important mass transport projects to enter the country for the first time.

"The monorail will carry millions of passengers daily, in addition to being an environmentally friendly means of transportation," he emphasized.

He explained that the electric train is a step in the right direction to facilitate the transportation of passengers and the development of rural areas through which the express train line will pass.

Salah added that the express train will connect the New Administrative Capital, Ain Sokhna and the new city of El Alamein, passing through the sixth of October and Wadi El Natroun, with a total length of about 1,000 kilometers.
