Egyptian women's football team Masar became the first Egyptian women's football team to capture a medal in the CAF Women's Champions League.
The Egyptian football queens captured the tournament's bronze medal after defeating Nigeria's Edo Queens 4/3 by penalties after the game's full-time ended with a goalless draw.
The official Facebook page of the team congratulated them after their historical participation at the 2023/2024 CAF Women's Champions League.
This was the first time for Masar, formally known as Tutankhamun, to participate in the prestigious African club competition.
In addition, it was the third time for an Egyptian team to make an appearance at the CAF Women's Champions competitions after two participations of Wadi Degla, and the two appearances ended with failure to advance to the knockouts.
One of the highlights of Masar's participation in this year's edition is defeating the titleholders Sundowns 1-0.
