Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to sell Egypt’s Mahmoud Trezeguet in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Following a nine-month absence due to a knee injury, Trezeguet was sent on a six-month loan to Istanbul Basaksehir back in January after falling down the pecking order at Villa.

The 26-year-old managed to quickly rediscover his form after a fruitful spell in Turkey, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 13 appearances.

His performances also earned him back-to-back Player of the Month awards for the months of February and March.

Despite his impressive displays, it has been reported that Trezeguet is not in Steven Gerrard’s plans for next season.

Aston Villa have already secured permanent deals for Philippe Coutinho, Boubacar Kamara, and Diego Carlos as they plan a squad overhaul.

According to Sky Sports, Villa will be offloading some of their squad players and have included Trezeguet in their transfer list.

The club are reportedly willing to sell Trezeguet and will be listening to incoming offers for the Egyptian, whose contract runs until the summer of 2023.
