Egypt’s House Speaker Receives S. Korean Speaker of National Assembly

On Monday, Counselor Hanafi Jebali, the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives (HoR), received Park Byeong-Seug, the Speaker of South Korean National Assembly, who is currently visiting Egypt.

The meeting was attended by the House’s two undersecretaries, MP Ahmed Saad El-Din and MP Mohamed Aboul Enein.

At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Jebali welcomed the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly and his accompanying delegation, stressing his pride in this visit, which aims to deepen bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries at all fields, especially at the parliamentary level.

He noted that the Egyptian House of Representatives is considering to launch an association for parliamentary friendship with the National Assembly of South Korea.

The House Speaker also stressed that the Egyptian-Korean bilateral relations are witnessing a special boom in light of the exchange of high-level visits, which casts a positive shadow towards pushing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

On his part, Park Byeong-Seug expressed his appreciation and deep pride to visit Egypt, saying that it comes in light of the positive momentum witnessed by the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. He added that this represents an extension of the historical ties that unite the two countries.

Finally, Dr. Jebali accompanied his Korean counterpart on a tour inside the halls of the parliament, during which the Korean official and his accompanying delegation attended a detailed session about the history of the ancient Egyptian parliamentary life.
