On Wednesday, Egypt's High Committee for Human Rights presented the Government's responses to the annual report of the Human Rights Council, as well as the Government's views on this issue.

This was during a meeting between Mohamed Faiq, President of the National Council for Human Rights, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, according to a statement by the committee.

According to the High Committee for Human Rights, Faiq explained that the dialogue between the minister and committee tackled the fact that the recently-established Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights is setting an integrated effective strategy with realistic and long-term goals in all sectors.

Meanwhile, the Council will meet on March 17 to hear from the national institutions concerned and to hold a general debate on the National Committee's Human Rights file and the government reports.

In the same context, the Foreign minister thanked the committee for the invitation admitting its key role in explaining legislation that secures human rights on the economic, social, and cultural levels.
