Egypt's handball team boss the Spaniard Roberto Garcia Parrondo affirmed Monday evening that his team had a good game against Sweden, despite the loss, at the end of the preliminary round group matches of the World Handball Championship.
The Pharaohs lost Monday to their Swedish counterpart by the score of 23-24.
"The loss by one goal against Sweden is frustrating for any team, especially since we were the closest to winning the whole match," Garcia said at the press conference after the game.
Egypt's national handball team coach explained that his team has many young players who do not have much experience.
"Our goal is to build a team that we know will gain experience over time," he added.
He then stressed that Ali Zain is one of the most important elements in the Egyptian national team, and that he was not successful on the offensive level, but on the other hand he had a great defensive performance, while Ahmed Al Ahmar is a great player at offense, however he is not good at defense.
For his part, Ibrahim Al Masry, the Egyptian national team player, said that the lack of focus in the second half and wasting many opportunities caused the loss to Sweden.
Al Masry confirmed that his team will turn the page of this defeat, noting that he and his teammates are seeking to reunite the team, especially since it has three crucial clashes in the main round against the Russian Federation, Belarus and Slovenia.
