The Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated the 102nd anniversary of Egyptian Diplomacy Day on Monday. The event was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, along with several ministers, ambassadors, diplomats, and media professionals at Tahrir Palace in the center of the capital.
In his speech, Foreign Minister Shoukry emphasized that the celebration of the 102nd anniversary of Egyptian Diplomacy Day falls on March 15 of each year. He noted that this date marks Egypt's declaration of independence in 1922, the end of foreign protection, and the re-establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister expressed his appreciation and pride in Egypt's diplomacy throughout the ages, which has protected Egypt's supreme interests and national security in times of peace and war, in stages of tension and crises, and during periods of stability, construction, and modernization.
Shoukry also took this occasion to extend his greetings and appreciation to everyone who implemented Egypt's foreign policy through the ages.
Moreover, he addressed several crises that have become increasingly severe and dangerous over time. These include the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has led to polarization, an arms race, and tension on the international stage, as well as civil wars that pose a real threat to the stability of countries. The Minister stressed that these challenges require the attention of Egyptian diplomacy, which must deal with them with utmost vigilance, insightful vision, and innovative solutions.
