Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls with his counterparts from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey to coordinate efforts aimed at supporting ongoing negotiations and reducing regional tensions.
The calls, conducted in line with presidential directives to intensify diplomatic efforts, focused on the rapidly evolving situation in the region and the importance of backing the ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiation track. All sides stressed the need to maintain a diplomatic approach and continue working toward a consensus-based settlement.
Discussions highlighted the importance of reinforcing the current ceasefire, ending hostilities, and easing regional tensions, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of global trade. Particular emphasis was placed on safeguarding freedom of navigation, given the serious implications any disruption could have on supply chains and the global economy.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s position that achieving lasting stability requires full respect for state sovereignty and careful consideration of the security concerns of regional countries, especially Gulf states.
He also underscored that dialogue and negotiation remain the only viable path toward achieving peace, security, and stability across the region.
