Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty outlined Cairo’s positions on key regional crises during a roundtable discussion held in Washington, as part of his official visit to the United States.
The event, organised by the Middle East Institute under the title “Egyptian Diplomacy in Addressing Evolving Regional Challenges,” brought together policymakers and experts to discuss pressing developments across the Middle East.
Abdelatty highlighted the multiple dimensions of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, pointing to growing momentum in bilateral relations and shared efforts to expand cooperation across political, economic and security fields in support of regional stability.
The session featured an interactive dialogue on major regional issues, including ongoing military escalation, the Palestinian file, developments in Sudan, Lebanon, the Horn of Africa, and Egypt’s water security.
Abdelatty presented a detailed overview of Egypt’s approach to regional crises, stressing Cairo’s continued efforts to promote peace, security and stability in coordination with regional and international partners.
He underlined the importance of diplomatic solutions and multilateral cooperation to address complex challenges facing the region, reaffirming Egypt’s role as a key actor in de-escalation efforts.
