Egypt's FM Meets with Somali President in Antalya

Upon the President's directives, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration meets with the Somali President in Antalya

The Egyptian FM Badr Abdel Aty, met Friday, with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud during his participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings of  President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Somali president, and his wishes for continued security, stability, and peace for Somalia. He also praised the historical and fraternal relations between the two  countries.

Abdel Aty affirmed Egypt's full commitment to supporting the unity and integrity of Somali territories and its national institutions, and to efforts to achieve security and stability in Somalia. This is due to the critical importance of Somalia's stability for peace and security in the Horn of Africa region.

He emphasized Egypt's support for Somalia in confronting terrorism and extremism at this critical juncture, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to providing all forms of support to the Somali side in the fight against terrorism and achieving security and stability.

On his part, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud asked that his greetings be conveyed to His Excellency the President of Egypt, and his deep appreciation for Egypt's supportive role in his country at all levels, emphasizing the depth of the strategic and historical relations that bind the two brotherly countries.
