Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks in Beirut with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, delivering a message of support from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi amid current regional developments.

The meeting, attended by Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi and Social Affairs Minister Hanine El Sayed, addressed the situation in Lebanon and ways to support the country during the current phase. Abdel Aaty conveyed President Sisi’s greetings and confirmed Egypt’s full backing for the Lebanese government’s efforts to navigate ongoing challenges.

He said Egypt has dispatched urgent humanitarian aid estimated at around 1,000 tons to meet the immediate needs of the Lebanese people, describing the move as part of Cairo’s continued support for Lebanon’s stability and national institutions.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support, describing it as timely and meaningful, and praised Cairo’s consistent position in backing Lebanon’s unity and territorial integrity.

The Egyptian minister said Egypt stands by Lebanon and continues efforts to support stability, noting that his repeated visits to Beirut reflect the priority Cairo places on Lebanon’s security. He also expressed appreciation for Lebanese institutions handling displaced persons and providing assistance.

Abdel Aaty reiterated Egypt’s rejection of Israeli military actions and warned of the consequences of continued escalation, including damage to infrastructure and displacement of civilians. He called for a comprehensive ceasefire and full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, while affirming Egypt’s support for the Lebanese government’s efforts to extend state authority across its territory and maintain stability.
