On Sunday, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs, met with leaders and members of the Asian sector. This meeting is part of the Minister's commitment to direct communication with all ministry sectors and to hear their assessments regarding the priorities of Egyptian foreign policy in the coming period.

Spokesman and Director of Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that Minister Abdel Aty emphasized the significant importance Egypt places on developing and enhancing its relations with Asian countries. The Minister was keen to hear the assessments of Asian sector leaders regarding bilateral relations with major Asian countries, reviewing existing cooperation areas and projects, and exploring opportunities to advance joint cooperation to new heights.

In this context, Minister Abdel Aty stressed the importance of reviewing the current cooperation mechanisms, including joint committees, political consultation mechanisms, and strategic dialogues at the level of foreign ministries. The goal is to maximize mutual benefits from these mechanisms and ensure continued joint coordination on regional and international issues of common interest and priority to Egypt.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that a large part of the meeting focused on the centrality of the economic dimension, especially with the major political and economic powers in the continent. He pointed out that the economic dimension in Egyptian foreign policy has gained significant importance in light of the current government's priority on the economy. This includes promoting promising investment opportunities in Egypt, supporting Egyptian exports, and increasing financing opportunities to enhance Egypt's ability to implement its developmental priorities. The Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of advancing Egypt's relations with Asian groups and entities, particularly ASEAN, and strengthening Egypt's economic and trade relations with these groups.
