On Monday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1651 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total up to 411,749.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,396 nationwide after the ministry announced 28 deaths.

About 1803 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 345,774.

The country is also aiming to vaccinate 70% of citizens in the coming period.

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January 2021 using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.

About 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
