Egypt's Comedian George Sidhom Dies at 82

George Sidhom, one of Egypt's veteran comedians passed away on Friday at the age of 82, inside a private hospital in Heliopolis, after a long struggle with illness.

Sidhom retired years ago due to a brain stroke. His last appearance was several years ago in one of the TV ads along with Samir Ghanem and Sherine, stars of the famous comedy play "El Mutazawegon".

His first true appearance, was after he formed 'Tholathy Adwa'a El Masrah' with Samir Ghanem, and El Deif Ahmed, where they performed various musical sketches, stand-up comedy shows, and several movies.

Their debut "Doctor Elha'ani", was a short performance that introduced them to the world of fame.

George Sidhom's style of comedy is a mixture of slapstick comedy, sarcasm and playing the role of a daft person. He also utilized his physique at points, with emphasis on obesity.

Sidhom's school of comedy is a mixture of slapstick and sarcasm.

George Sidhom participated in various films, including 'El-Bahth 'an Fediha', 'Fi El-Seif Lazem Neheb'. His most popular movies are "Akher Shakawa" and "30 Yom fel Segn" as well as "El Maganeen El Talata"
