Egypt's Ahly has concluded a deal with Etoile du Sahel’s forward Mohamed Dhaoui, according to Tunisian reports.
Dhaoui has already inked a four-and-a-half-year contract with Al Ahly ahead of his arrival in Cairo on Monday. The 19-year-old player is expected not to take up any foreign spot in the squad as he will be registered as a youth player; however, will play mainly for the first team, said Tunisian news outlet Foot24.
Foot24 also emphasized that Al Ahly is on the lookout for a young football striker to strengthen its frontline, noting that the Red Devils have been struggling up front as Mohamed Sherif, Shady Hussein, and Hossam Hassam failed to convince head coach Marcel Koller, while Percy Tau has been struggling with injuries.
Dhaoui, who is leading the Tunisian Ligue 1 scoring charts with four goals and two assists in six games, is said to receive a whopping $1.200 million.
Once the deal is confirmed, he will become the third-ever Tunisian to represent Al Ahly after Anis Boujelbene and current club left-back Ali Maaloul.
