Egyptian TV Series to Explore Female Athletes' Life

The TV series “Ella Ana” has been a massive hit with the viewers in Egypt and the Arab world since its premiere in 2020.

The series received soon a second part due to its overwhelming success.

The two parts of the series were based on true events, each presenting 8 separate stories that are presented in 10 episodes that depict the issues of women in modern society.

It shed light on topics that were never presented before such as Jamila Awad's story “Lazim Aeesh” (I must live), featured in the first part.

The plot discussed vitiligo and how to coexist with it, for the first time in an Egyptian drama.

The series also recently raised in its second part important topic such as the challenges people with autism face in Mayan El Sayed's story "Helm Hayaty" (The Dream of My Life).

The series is now planning a new story about Egyptian Female Olympic champions.

The story, entitled "Toklaha Dahab", began filming and is set to debut on Sunday, December 26th.

The series' producing company will cooperate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as sports spaces to present the lives of the three champions, Hedayat Malak, Faryal Ashraf, and Samar Hamza.

Actress Hend Abdelhalim will portray Ashraf, who won the gold medal in weightlifting More than 61 kg of women's karate competitions at the Tokyo Olympics.
