The Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science, in collaboration with the Hiwar Center for Political and Media Studies and the Moscow-based Center for Strategic Studies and Political Forecasting, has announced the release of the first volume of its new academic series, "Russia and the World."
The debut installment, titled "Russia and the Americas," features a compilation of scholarly research analyzing Moscow's geopolitical footprints. This initiative stems from a broader effort to provide an in-depth, annual Russian report that examines Moscow’s cooperation with various global powers. The Foundation has a long-standing history of documenting and strengthening Egyptian-Russian ties through historical archives and academic publications.
Analyzing Global Influence
The series aims to shed light on Russia's evolving international relations through a semi-annual publication. These reports offer specialized research into Russia's political and economic status, as well as its strategic geographic role as a leading global power with growing influence across multiple regions.
Shady El-Shafei, President of the Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science, emphasized that Russia plays a pivotal role in international affairs, particularly in global economic cooperation.
"This volume explores the intricate dynamics between Russia and the Americas, covering military cooperation, the impact of Russian political discourse in the region, and a comprehensive review of Russia-Latin American relations throughout 2024," El-Shafei stated.
The research also extends to Russian-Canadian relations, focusing on economic dimensions, and provides a rigorous analysis of the high-stakes Russian-American bilateral relationship.
A Focus on Latin America
The series highlights the complex evolution of Russia-Latin American ties, tracing their trajectory from the end of World War II and the Cold War to the 21st century. Today, these relations have expanded into robust partnerships involving energy, arms trade, and diversified commerce.
Cairo International Book Fair 2026
The "Russia and the World" series serves as an academic roadmap for understanding Moscow’s strategic initiatives. The publication will be featured at the 2026 Cairo International Book Fair, running from January 21 to February 3, 2026.
Visitors can find the collection at the Egyptian-Russian Foundation’s pavilion: Hall 1, Stand B34.
