The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched its 48th humanitarian convoy to the Gaza Strip on Friday, delivering 1,600 tons of emergency relief supplies as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support civilians affected by the conflict.
The convoy, titled “Zad El-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza,” includes hundreds of trucks carrying food baskets, flour, medical supplies, and essential relief materials urgently needed by residents of the besieged enclave.
According to the ERC, the “Zad El-Ezzah” initiative, launched on July 27, 2025, has so far transported thousands of tons of humanitarian assistance, including food supply chains, baby formula, medicines, hygiene products, and fuel shipments to sustain vital services inside Gaza.
The Egyptian Red Crescent serves as the national coordinating body for aid deliveries to Gaza and has maintained a continuous presence along the border since the start of the crisis. The organization confirmed that the Rafah crossing has not been closed from the Egyptian side, allowing the steady flow of humanitarian convoys into the Strip.
To date, the ERC has facilitated the entry of over half a million tons of humanitarian and relief materials, with the help of more than 35,000 volunteers working across its logistical centers in North Sinai and other provinces.
Egypt’s sustained relief efforts underscore its central role in addressing the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, ensuring the continued flow of food, medical assistance, and essential supplies despite ongoing challenges on the ground.
