In an official communique released this Thursday, the association confirmed the draw would take place on the evening of September 11 at 6 p.m., hosted at the People's Square in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.
Historically, Al Ahly dominated the preceding season, amassing a remarkable 83 points. This put them a clear 10 points ahead of their closest competitors, Pyramids FC. Al Ahly's legacy in the league is unmatched, holding an unprecedented 43 titles, followed by Zamalek's commendable 14. On the continental front, Al Ahly and Pyramids FC will represent Egypt in the 2023-2024 African Champions League, while Zamalek and Future FC are set to compete in the Confederation Cup.
Ahmed Diab, Vice President of the Egyptian Professional Football Clubs Association, has indicated the league's commencement on September 18th, with the curtains set to draw in July 2024. Diab reiterated the two-legged nature of the league format, emphasizing the non-allowance of any postponements for teams.
