Egyptian Premier League 2023-2024 Draw Scheduled for September 11

The Egyptian Professional Football Clubs Association has declared the date for the Premier League 2023-2024 season's draw. In an official communique released this Thursday, the association confirmed the draw would take place on the evening of September 11 at 6 p.m., hosted at the People's Square in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

Historically, Al Ahly dominated the preceding season, amassing a remarkable 83 points. This put them a clear 10 points ahead of their closest competitors, Pyramids FC. Al Ahly's legacy in the league is unmatched, holding an unprecedented 43 titles, followed by Zamalek's commendable 14. On the continental front, Al Ahly and Pyramids FC will represent Egypt in the 2023-2024 African Champions League, while Zamalek and Future FC are set to compete in the Confederation Cup.

Ahmed Diab, Vice President of the Egyptian Professional Football Clubs Association, has indicated the league's commencement on September 18th, with the curtains set to draw in July 2024. Diab reiterated the two-legged nature of the league format, emphasizing the non-allowance of any postponements for teams.

In a chat with Seif Zaher on the "On Time Stadium" show broadcasted by On Time Sports channel, Diab spotlighted the association's efficiency in ensuring the league's timely conclusion. This guarantees teams a sufficient break and pre-season preparations. Additionally, a brand-new league shield, meticulously crafted in England, is poised to be unveiled this season.

Diab also mentioned an appeal to authorities for an increment in the permitted fan attendance for games, seeking to progressively reach full stadium capacity. However, he clarified that such decisions rest with the higher-ups, and the association's duty remains to plan and propose.
