Egyptian PM Delivers President Sisi’s Message of Cooperation to Emir of Qatar

Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, during the 22nd Doha Forum, held in the Qatari capital on December 7-8, 2024. Representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Madbouly highlighted Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its strategic relationship with Qatar, reflecting the progress achieved in recent years.

Sheikh Tamim praised Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability and its significant influence on global affairs. The Emir emphasized the importance of Egyptian-Qatari collaboration in addressing regional challenges, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to maintaining open and constructive communication with Egypt. He also noted the productive discussions he held with President El-Sisi during the recent G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where both leaders explored ways to deepen cooperation in light of current regional developments.

The Emir pointed to the recent visit of Qatar’s Prime Minister to Egypt in November, emphasizing the need to build on the agreements reached during that trip. He expressed Qatar’s eagerness to advance shared economic and investment projects that benefit both nations.

In response, Dr. Madbouly conveyed President El-Sisi’s greetings and reiterated Egypt’s commitment to expanding bilateral ties with Qatar. He highlighted the transformative shift in relations between the two nations, particularly in political, economic, and investment spheres, and emphasized Egypt’s readiness to implement agreements reached in November swiftly.

The Egyptian Prime Minister underscored Egypt’s focus on delivering results through ongoing dialogue with Qatari counterparts. He expressed optimism about accelerating joint projects, which align with Egypt’s broader goals of fostering economic growth, regional stability, and international cooperation.
