On Friday, the Egyptian Olympic Committee decided to disqualify Egyptian wrestler Mohamed Ibrahim El-Sayed (Kisho), and investigate with the player after an allegation of sexual assault against him after his participation at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
According to Egyptian reports, a source in the committee asserted that player was referred for investigation by the Ethics Committee after being accused of sexual harassment.
The reports also cited that Kisho left the camp without notification or permission, and if the allegations are confirmed, the committee will disbar him.
The source added that the victim filed a complaint with Paris police, revealing that the incident took place at around 4.30 am. The police arrested the player after receiving the complaint.
The Le Parisien newspaper stated that the Egyptian wrestler ‘grabbed a woman’s buttocks in the street.
El-Sayed won Greco-Roman bronze medal in the 67kg weight class at the 2020 Olympics Games in Tokyo.
He was eliminated from this year's Olympic Games after losing to Azerbaijan’s Hasrat Jafarov with a score of 9-0.
