Bahgat Al-Obeidi, the Egyptian writer residing in Austria and founder of the International Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad, said that Egypt, under the rule of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, is playing a very important role abroad, through supporting a number of friendly and brotherly countries in light of the threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Al-Obeidi added that Egypt is always present in all international forums and conferences to support all legitimate rights of peoples worldwide, pointing out that it also has showed moral and material support for some countries especially in light of the unprecedented crisis being faced by the whole world countries.
The writer noted that Egypt played the most outstanding examples in supporting a number of friendly countries, especially Italy, which enjoys close historical ties with Egypt.
Despite the very rapid outbreak of coronavirus in Italy, Egypt sent the minister of health Dr. Hala Zayed with tons of medical supplies, protective suits and disinfection materials to express the Egyptian leadership, represented in president El-Sisi, in addition the Egyptian people's solidarity with the Italian people in their ordeal in facing the deadly pandemic.
“This move shall contribute to alleviating the burden on Italy in its current ordeal, especially in light of its severe shortage of medicines, medical supplies, and protection tools amid the rapid spread of the Corona virus and the high rate of injuries and deaths in Italy,” Al-Obeidi added.
He confirmed that this assistance comes from Egypt’s pioneering role towards friendly countries around the world, in addition to providing permanent support and solidarity in times of adversity and crisis.
The founder of the International Union of the Egyptian Citizen Abroad concluded that the visit of Egyptian health minister to Italy has filled all Egyptian expatriates with pride, due to the noble and support message showed by Egypt to all world countries.
