Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anis Al Saleh stressed that his country will enforce the law on the Kuwaiti citizen who attacked an Egyptian expat during his work.

The story happened on Sunday when Walid Salah, an Egyptian cashier at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Big Society supermarket, was attacked by an old Kuwaiti man, who asked Salah to render a service for him, but Salah refused because the service violates the supermarket's rules. Therefore, the man slapped the Egyptian on his face.

Speaking to MENA News Agency, Salah said that he decided not to respond to the Kuwaiti attacker respecting his older age and as his family accompanied him.

Salah thanked the head of his work, who showed his solidarity with him.

Moreover, the head of the supermarket Nasser Al-Otaibi, according to CNN, said he resigned from his position after the incident, saying his move comes in support of the Egyptian worker.

Meanwhile, Consul General of Egypt in Kuwait Hesham Asran described the incident of attacking an Egyptian worker as inpidual behavior that does not reflect the distinguished ties between the two countries.

Asran said the head of the supermarket which the Egyptian expat is working for, insisted to call the police to arrest the attacker.

"The consulate had contacted the Egyptian victim, and offered support to him," Asran added.
