The Egyptian government is ramping up efforts to enhance healthcare services across the country by ensuring that each main administrative center in the governorates has a fully equipped hospital.
Mohamed El-Homsani, spokesperson for the Cabinet, emphasized the government's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, stating that hospitals in key centers will be capable of providing all necessary medical services, eliminating the need for patients to travel to major cities for specialized procedures.
Speaking on "Extra News" during a phone interview, El-Homsani highlighted that the state is focusing on increasing the number of hospital beds in accordance with the needs of each governorate.
He also stressed that partnerships with the private sector play a crucial role in enhancing medical services.
“The development process is not just about increasing the number of beds,” he explained. “In the coming period, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Cairo Governorate, we will work on upgrading healthcare facilities, including 150 medical centers and 61 hospitals.”
Moreover, the government plans to improve the surrounding environment of medical units in Cairo by adding green spaces, removing waste, and upgrading infrastructure. This initiative is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to modernize its healthcare sector and ensure accessible medical services for all citizens.
