Libyan Parliament Speaker Aquila Saleh received a high-ranking Egyptian delegation at his office in the city of Al Qubah on Thursday. They discussed the latest developments in the Libyan political situation.

During the meeting, Saleh discussed the ongoing preparations for forming a national unity government, according to a statement by the Libyan House of Representatives.

This comes within the framework of the efforts made by Egypt to stabilize the situation in Libya in order to reach a comprehensive settlement of the Libyan crisis under the auspices of the United Nations.

On Thursday, the Libyan Prime Minister-designate Abdulhamid Dbaiba announced that he has presented a vision of the government to the House of Representatives (HoR).

In a press conference held today in Tripoli, Dbaiba said that he had submitted the structure and the government project, and was ready to present the names after consultation and scrutiny by the HoR. He hinted that the HoR will need three to four days of consultation – after which he might present the names of his government.

He revealed that he had received over 3,000 CVs for his government, but that they only got round to viewing about 2,300.
