CAIRO, Jan. 17 (SEE)-"Al- Tok wa Al- Iswera" for Nasser Abdel Moneim won the prize of Sheikh Qasim in The Arabic Theater Festival.
Abdel Dayem: I am proud of Egypt for winning the award and for the artistic superiority of "Al- Tok wa Al- Iswera".
In the closing ceremony of the 11th Edition of The Arabic Theater Festival held under the patronage of President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi , and for the first time, Egypt has won "Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi " Award; it was given to the play "Al- Tok wa Al- Iswera" by Al- Taleea Troup, prepared by Dr. Sameh Mahran. The play was taken from the novel of Yahia Eltaher Abdullah, directed by Nasser Abdel Moneim.
It is worthy of note that Dr. Inas Abdul-Dayem, the Minister of Culture, Abdullah Al Owais, Head of Culture Department in Sharjah and Ismail Abdullah, Secretary General of the Arabic Theater Authority, delivered the prize to the team work in the Grand Theater of the Opera House.
Moreover, Abdel Dayem thanked El-Sisi for sponsoring this edition and expressed her happiness for the artistic excellence of the Egyptian play which won the prize of the festival for the first time since its launching. The play was directed by Nasser Abdel Moneim . The minister expressed her happiness with the Egyptian cultural triumphs that enhanced a dialogue between brothers on the land of Egypt to follow up the movement of the Arabic theater, which lasted for seven days and created an atmosphere of honesty, fun and entertained all the audience of theater.
On his Part, the Secretary-General of the Arabic Theater Authority conveyed the greetings of the Supreme Chairman of the Authority, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who thanked all those who contributed in the success of this edition and praised their efforts. This edition included 27 Play, 150 media figure, 60 researchers, hosted 30 conferences, 8 publications of the theater magazine were issued to address the talented people of theater all over the Arab world, wishing to continue exerting more effort to enrich the theatric movement .
He also announced the selection of Jordan to organize the next edition of the festival in Amman, delivering the file of the 12 edition to Hussein al-Khatib, chairman of Jordan Artists Association.
It is worthy of note that the closing ceremony was directed by the artist Khalid Jalal, beginning with presenting an artistic concert for the children's choir of the Talent Development Center, parallel with screening a documentary film showing pictures of the stars in the Arab world, followed by delivering the awards to the winning plays which addressed adults and children , followed by honoring all the participants who contributed in the success of the 11th edition of this festival organized by the Arab Theater Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. The festival was attended by the artist Khalid Jalal, Dr. Sameh Mahran, member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Theater Authority, Dr. Magdy Saber, the artist Ismail Mokhtar, head of the Artistic Theater House, the great director Essam El Sayed, Dr. Youssef Eidaby, advisor to the Arab Theater Authority, members of The Supreme Authority and a crowd of Egyptian and Arab critics, artists and media figures.
