Egyptian club Al Masry has reported on Monday five new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of the diagnosed cases in the club to 23.

In statements, Ali Al-Tarabily, a member in Al Masry's board of director, said "we have discovered five more coronavirus cases, including striker Mahmoud Wady."

The total number of the confirmed cases in the Egyptian club climbed to 23, including 17 players and 6 staff members.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Football Association decided to postpone Al Masry's game against Haras El Hodoud, scheduled to be held today.

Masry are the second club to confirm more than a dozen coronavirus cases after El-Entag El-Harby, who had their match against FC Masr rescheduled after 19 players and non-playing staff had tested positive.

After being given the green light by the government to resume the league competition, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) ordered all clubs to carry out PCR tests ahead of every game. The domestic competition restarted on Thursday after a five-month hiatus due to the pandemic.
