Hassanien has been working for years on enhancing the batik art by presenting different designs every season.

She is also keen on conducting workshops to teach this ancientt traditional art that relies on natural fabrics and natural dyes.

Motif is trendy this summer

The collection is characterized by various fabrics, such as the cloche and ruffle, whether at the bottom or on the sleeves.

Moreover, the designer used extremely soft (rayon) fabric comfortable in hot weather.

“Egyptian batik art initially tried to convert old cuts to models easy to wear and use in everyday life and with time many styles emerged, some follow a part of the global fashion, while others are a trendsetter, which was our goal from the beginning, to be the one who makes fashion, and not to imitate it,” said Hassanien.

* Batik art prices

The prices for batik art are determined based on the fabric and the amount of work put in it.

“About 90% of the fabrics used are 100% natural, whether if they are cotton “voile” and “lino” or from the fibers made from natural sources, such as the “rayon” or the “viscose”.

Price range starting from EGP450 for short blouses to EGP1250 for wide, long dresses.

* Guide to material

Cotton is generally used in models that its structure is somewhat dry, such as pants, jackets, curtains, and bedding.

On the other hand, the Rayon, viscose, chiffon, and satin are used in loose models such as blouses, wide pockets, abayas.

* Fall Trends for 2020

“With trying more than one linen product to create new linen material that is light and soft after dyeing, which could form the groundwork for the fall 2020 collection,” Hassanien revealed.

* How to clean batik

As for the care and cleaning, the designer affirmed that the batik art colors are very firm.

“We have after-sales service for any possible problem that appears in our products because we are very confident in our work,” Hassanien pointed out. “As for the best to wash, is to wash manually at any temperature and with any type of laundry detergents to preserve the beauty of the fabric, and not ruin it, if nothing else."
