Ahead of the 33rd Arab League Summit hosted by Bahrain, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Bahraini counterpart, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in Manama. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the Arab Foreign Ministers' Council, where preparations for the summit are underway.

According to Ahmed Abu Zeid, the spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shoukry commended the exceptional organization of the summit's preparatory meetings. He expressed his best wishes for Bahrain's success in steering the summit towards fruitful outcomes.

The ministers reviewed the longstanding and robust bilateral relations between Egypt and Bahrain, reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of both nations. The talks also covered critical regional developments, particularly the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Ministers Shoukry and Al Zayani emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to military operations in the Palestinian city of Rafah. They highlighted the severe consequences of Israel's continued occupation of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which is currently closed to humanitarian aid.
