His Excellency Ambassador Hatem Raslan is chosen as a member of the organizing committee for the upcoming Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in The Gambia
On the sidelines of his participation in the United Nations General Assembly Meetings in its Seventy-Eighth Session currently held in New York, H.E. Dr. Hatem Raslan, Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of The Gambia, had an audience with H.E. Mr. Yankuba Dibba – President of The Gambia OIC Secretariate, and His Excellency Ambassador Omar Gibril Sallah, Permanent Representative of the Republic of The Gambia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
H.E. Ambassador Raslan announced, in special statements, that he had been chosen as a member of the organizing committee in charge of receiving delegations to participate in the upcoming Islamic Summit, stressing that the Republic of The Gambia is fully prepared for receiving distinguished Heads of States of Islamic Countries and participating delegations, adding that invitations have already been extended to OIC Member States where Egypt took the initiative to appreciate the invitation and to confirm its participation in the Summit.
H.E. Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of The Gambia explained that The Gambia is to remain as the President of the Islamic Summit for the next three years, noting that during the audience, logistical arrangements and ongoing preparations for the upcoming 15th Islamic Summit, which will be hosted by The Gambia and to be held in Banjul on 16th–17th December, 2023, were thoroughly discussed.
