Renowned Spanish Formula 1 driver Dani Clos and his family have been hosted by the Egyptian Tourism Authority in a bid to promote the country's destinations.
According to Nermain Hanafi, the PR Manager at Tourism Authority, they began their tour by visiting some of Egypt's top tourist and archaeological sites like Valley of the Kings, the Hatshepsut temple and Memnon colossi in Luxor, the Edfu temple, the Kom Ombo temple, and the unfinished obelisk in Aswan.
Then, Clos traveled to Cairo where he visited the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, the Baron Empain Palace, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, and the Royal Carriages Museum, she added.
Born in Barcelona, he is a former racing driver who previously competed as a test driver for the HRT team in Formula One, taking part in numerous FP1 sessions during the 2012 season.
Throughout his career, he won the Copa Campeones Trophy and finished 10th in the Italian Open Masters, against a top-quality field of drivers including Nico Hülkenberg, Sébastien Buemi, Nelson Panciatici, Oliver Oakes and Buemi's cousin Natacha Gachnang amongst others.
