Egypt warns of the dangers of opening a new war front in Lebanon

The Arab Republic of Egypt warned of the dangers of opening a new war front in Lebanon, against the backdrop of the recent events witnessed in the village of "Majdal Shams" in the occupied Syrian Golan, which could lead to the region slipping into a comprehensive regional war.

Egypt stressed the importance of supporting Lebanon, its people and its institutions and sparing it the scourge of war, and appeals to influential forces in the international community to intervene immediately to spare the peoples of the region further disastrous consequences of the expansion of the conflict, which could pose a threat to international peace and security.

Egypt also renews its warning of the dangers of Israel continuing its war against the Gaza Strip, calling for the necessity of reaching an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire that ends the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, and enabling the international community to contain the negative repercussions of the crisis on the brotherly Palestinian people and on security and stability in the region.
