Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said Egypt is keen to ensure that ongoing regional escalation does not divert international attention from the Palestinian issue and developments in Gaza.
During a meeting with Japanese envoy Takeshi Okubo, discussions covered the situation in Gaza and efforts related to early recovery and reconstruction.
Abdelatty called for continued international engagement in humanitarian and recovery initiatives, stressing the need to closely monitor conditions on the ground. He outlined Egypt’s approach to accelerating early recovery through practical projects with direct impact, including medical supplies, construction materials, water desalination units, mobile power stations, and temporary housing.
He also pointed to the importance of coordinating donor efforts and unifying international positions to support projects that improve living conditions for Palestinians.
The minister expressed readiness to cooperate with Japan in supporting the role of civil society and humanitarian organizations in relief and recovery efforts.
Talks also addressed efforts to enable a national committee to assume administrative responsibilities in Gaza, along with arrangements related to an international stabilization force to support recovery and reconstruction.
