El Nasr Automotive Company unveiled its latest electric bus prototype during the opening of the TransMEA Smart Transport, Logistics, and Industry Exhibition, and MEA Industry Expo in a major step toward Egypt’s green mobility transition.

The exhibitions, running from November 9–11 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo, was inaugurated earlier today by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, on behalf of the President, and attended by Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, alongside several cabinet members.

Featuring participation from around 500 companies representing 30 countries, the twin events highlight Egypt’s growing status as a regional hub for industry, transport, and investment across the Middle East and Africa.

During his tour of the ministry’s pavilions, Mohamed Sheimy, Minister of Public Business Sector emphasized that the participation of public-sector companies reflects the government’s strategy to integrate industry and transport as dual engines of sustainable development, while enhancing local value chains and boosting the global competitiveness of Egyptian products.

Sheimy noted that the ministry’s participation offers “a platform to showcase the progress of modernization and development efforts across affiliated companies, and the strength of Egyptian-made products capable of competing regionally and internationally.”

Within the Ministry’s pavilion, several holding companies presented flagship products, including Egyptalum, Delta Steel, Al-Nasr Glass & Crystal, and Ceramica Chini. The Chemical Industries Holding Company featured KIMA Fertilizers and Egyptian Chemical Industries, while the Cotton & Textile Holding Company showcased luxury fabrics and home textiles under the “El-Mahalla” and “NIT” brands.

At the Smart Transport Exhibition, El Nasr Automotive, part of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, displayed its “Nasr Sky” bus, “Nasr Star” minibus, and the new electric bus model, expected to enter production soon, a move that underscores Egypt’s commitment to expanding its green transport infrastructure.

Supporting companies from Egypt’s industrial ecosystem, including El-Yayaat for Transport Components, Sigwart for Sleepers, and El Nasr Forging Company, also participated, displaying locally produced parts and components for the mechanical and engineering industries.

The unveiling of El Nasr’s electric bus marks a milestone in Egypt’s industrial transformation, aligning with national efforts to decarbonize public transport, promote clean energy, and support sustainable mobility as part of the country’s broader Vision 2030 strategy.
