Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat announced the launch of the National Economic Development Narrative, a comprehensive policy framework designed to stimulate sustainable growth and boost employment across key sectors.

The announcement was made during a high-level forum held in Cairo, with the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Deputy Prime Minister Kamel El-Wazir, along with several cabinet ministers and senior policymakers.

“This National Economic Narrative serves as a holistic blueprint for translating Egypt’s Integration Program and Vision 2030 into action, particularly in light of accelerating global and regional changes,” said Al-Mashat in her keynote address.

At the heart of the new policy framework is a continuation of Egypt’s economic reform journey, with renewed focus on high-productivity sectors and industries with strong export potential.

The narrative also places significant emphasis on structural reforms, aiming to strengthen macroeconomic stability, increase competitiveness, and enhance Egypt’s global economic standing.

Al-Mashat highlighted the importance of aligning Egypt’s economic trajectory with global trends, particularly through an accelerated shift toward a green economy — a move designed to bolster environmental sustainability while unlocking new investment opportunities.

A key pillar of the narrative includes sectoral strategies targeting high-growth and high-impact industries. Among the priorities identified are: artificial intelligence, ndustrial manufacturing, and tourism.

“These sectors not only reflect global trends but also present a strategic opportunity for Egypt to position itself as a regional hub for innovation, production, and tourism,” Al-Mashat noted.

She added that the National Economic Narrative will serve as both a policy compass and investment guide, aimed at enhancing Egypt’s attractiveness to foreign investors and reinforcing its role as a central player in regional development.

The launch marks a significant step in Egypt’s ongoing efforts to modernize its economy and adapt to evolving geopolitical and economic landscapes. By rooting the narrative in the country's long-term Vision 2030, the government aims to ensure continuity, resilience, and inclusivity in its development agenda.

With strong political backing and a clear strategic vision, Egypt’s National Economic Narrative signals a new chapter in the country's economic policymaking — one grounded in reform, focused on the future, and open to the world.
