On Sunday, Egypt’s Foreign Minister (FM) Badr Abdel Atti, met with Uganda’s Foreign Minister (FM), Jeje Odongo, on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting addressed the pathways and prospects for bilateral cooperation between Cairo and Kampala, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties and coordination on issues of mutual interest, given the historical relationship between the two countries and their peoples.

The discussion also covered several regional and international issues of common concern, focusing on the rapid developments in the region and their impact on the stability of the continent.

 Abdel Atty highlighted Egypt’s vision for sound cooperation among Nile Basin countries, stressing the importance of formulating a shared vision that takes into account the concerns of all states involved.
