Egypt’s Tarek Hamed opened the scoring just four minutes into the match, followed by a goal from Marmoush in the 16th minute. Captain Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 for Egypt just four minutes later, and Ahmed “Zizo” El Sayed sealed the victory with a well-placed shot in the 50th minute.

The seven-time African champions are now tied for the top spot in Group D with nine points alongside Guinea, but they currently hold a better goal difference.

Egypt only needs a draw in their upcoming match against Guinea in June to secure their place in next year’s tournament.

Egypt got off to a blistering start, scoring three goals in quick succession.

Salah set up 34-year old midfielder Hamed to score his first international goal with a powerful shot from outside the box that rocketed into the top of the net.

Marmoush then took advantage of a poorly cleared ball by Malawi’s defense, slotting it home from close range just 11 minutes later.

Salah added the third goal after a beautiful exchange of passes with Mostafa Mohamed to grab his 51st goal for Egypt.

Egypt’s attacking prowess was on full display throughout the match, while Malawi’s biggest threat came from Stain Davie, who came close to scoring twice but missed the mark on his first attempt and was denied by a last-minute tackle from Ahmed Hegazy in the 30th minute.

Egypt continued to dominate in the second half, with Zizo slipping past Malawi’s defenders to score the fourth and final goal of the match off a low cross from Mohamed Hany. Both Mustafa Mohamed and second-half substitute Ahmed “Kouka” Hassan had their chances but were unable to find the back of the net.
