Egypt to See More Rain on Sunday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the country will witness on Sunday a slight improvement in the weather conditions.

It is foreseen that the temperatures continue to drop leading to nice weather prevailing in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and Northern Coast as well as moderate weather to prevail in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt.

Furthermore, moderate rain, sometimes thunderstorms, will hit intermittently in the North Coast and North Lower Egypt, which may be accompanied by hail.

Light to medium rain is also foreseen to prevail intermittently in the South of Lower Egypt, the Gulf of Suez, Sinai, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Menoufia, Ras Ghareb, Zaafarana, Nakhl, and Saint Catherine.

Meteorologists also predict that cold weather to prevail in the country, at night.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 20°C in Cairo, 20°C in Alexandria, 20°C in Marsa Matruh, 22°C in Sohag, 23°C in Qena, and 25°C in Aswan.

On Saturday, the country began a four-day wave of unstable weather condition, with moderate to heavy rain, strong winds, and a 3-4 degree Celsius decline in temperature.

Furthermore, Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of the Weather Forecast Department at EMA, asked residents to wear winter clothes.

As a result, Behaira, Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Daqahlia governorates announced that they are suspending public and private schools on Saturday.

Moreover, General Mohamed Al Sharif, Alexandria Governor, suspended schools as well as work in all government departments, except for water, sanitation, ambulance, electricity, and other necessary facilities to face the wave of bad weather that Alexandria is witnessing.
