Egypt to Reveal Plan on Resumption of Activities Next Week

The Egyptian government will announce its plan on the gradual resumption of some religious, cultural, and sporting activities across the nation next week.

This came on Wednesday during the meeting of the supreme committee for managing the coronavirus crisis, under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli to discuss proposals on the gradual resumption of the proposed activities, Cabinet's spokesman Nader Saad said.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of defense, Awqaf, tourism, supply, education, higher education, finance, local development, interior, health, youth and sports, civil aviation, and information.

The meeting tackled proposals provided by the ministers of Awqaf and tourism to resume religious activities and international flights.

He added that the attendees also reviewed measures taken to recommence cultural and sporting activities.

It is worth noting that Egypt today registered 1,079 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total cases to 28,615.

Thirty-six more deaths were confirmed; raising the total number to 1,088.

It also recorded the highest daily recovery cases, reaching 523, taking the total number of recovered cases to 7,350.
