Egypt's Minister of Health and population Hala Zayed said that the fruitful cooperation between Cairo, and Beijing in the health sector during COVID-19 pandemic, is a role model for solidarity among peoples to face global pandemics and crises.
This came during the meeting between Zayed and the Chinese ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties between both countries in various fields.
Their talks included the continued cooperation between both countries to confront the COVID-19 pandemic and provision of vaccines, and leading Chinese companies in this field.
The minister stressed the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation and partnership with the Chinese side in the field of vaccine production and manufacturing technology transfer.
On his part, the Chinese ambassador revealed that a new shipment of 2 million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine will arrived in Cairo soon.
Liao thanked the Egyptian Minister for her participation in the virtual ceremony held by the Chinese Embassy, last month, on the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
He also added that Zayed's word during the ceremony received a wide reception from China.
