Egypt is set to position itself at the heart of the global AI conversation as it hosts the inaugural “AI Everything Middle East & Africa” summit and exhibition in Cairo from February 10 to 12, 2026.

Organized by GITEX GLOBAL in strategic partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the event is expected to be the region’s most influential technology gathering.

With participation from over 60 countries, the summit will bring together ministers, policymakers, global tech leaders, startups, investors, and AI experts to explore the future of artificial intelligence and its practical applications across vital sectors including healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and education.

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, said the decision to host the summit reflects the international community’s growing confidence in Egypt’s technological and human capabilities.

“Artificial intelligence is a cornerstone of Egypt’s digital transformation strategy, driving sustainable development and building a competitive digital economy,” he stated.

Echoing this vision, Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, described the event as a strategic platform to empower Egyptian companies, attract foreign investment, and forge impactful partnerships across the Middle East and Africa.

The summit’s agenda will include a ministerial roundtable on AI policies, and an international exhibition showcasing cutting-edge AI applications.

Specialized sessions on large language models, machine learning, cloud computing, and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things).

In addition, the event will feature innovation-focused activities such as a hackathon, youth-led initiatives, and networking opportunities linking entrepreneurs with more than 200 venture capital investors.

Part of a Broader National Strategy

Hosting the AI summit aligns with Egypt’s ongoing efforts to solidify its role as a regional technology leader. Recent initiatives include: the launch of the National AI Strategy, establishment of the National AI Council, creation of the Applied Innovation Center, expanded investments in digital skills development and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Observers note that Cairo’s hosting of “AI Everything MEA” is more than a global tech showcase, it marks Egypt’s arrival as a regional hub for innovation, with the potential to influence policy, research, and industry adoption of AI across Africa and the Middle East.
