The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation announced that Egypt will host the African Championship qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
The tournament will be held from 2 to 10 February in Ismailia.
The hosting contracts were signed by the President of the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation, Mohamed Abdel Maksoud, with the President of the African Union, Khaled Muhalhal, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the African Union and President of the Libyan Federation, Manar Al-Shili, members of the Federation's Board of Directors, Mohamed Ayman, Mohamed Ihsan, Mustafa Ragheb, the administrative shuttle, the director of the teams, Alaa Hassan Kamel, and the head of the Competitions Committee, Gouda Abdel Sadek.
