Egypt to Face Malawi in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifications

The Egyptian Football Association announced, Thursday, Egypt will start their participation in the qualifications of the Africa Cup of Nations. 

The first game for Egypt is against Malawi, on March 24 in Cairo. While the away home will take place on March 28.

Egypt are in Group D with Malawi, Ethiopia, and Guinea.

The last performance of the Egyptian team was at a friendly game against Belgium a few weeks before FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Goals from Mostafa Mohamed and Treziguet guided Egypt to snatch a 2-1 win over Belgium.

The Pharaohs broke the deadlock after 33 minutes when Mostafa Mohamed capatilized on De Bruyne's error to curl a sublime strike into the back of the net.

Two minutes after the break, Salah sent a brilliant through pass to Treziguet, who kept his composure and drilled the ball into the back of the net.

Sixteen minutes after the hour-mark, L.Openda reduced the deficit with a clinical finish.
