Egypt will celebrate the four-day Islamic feast Eid El-Adha starting Wednesday, 28 June, after Dar El-Iftaa, Egypt's highest authority for issuing religious edicts, announced it has sighted the moon of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijja.

According to the announcement, the Muslim sacred month of Dhul-Hijjah -- the last month of the Islamic calendar and the time of the Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage) -- will start on Monday.

Dar El-Iftaa extended Eid greetings to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people. It also extended greetings to the kings and princes of the Arab and Islamic states and Muslims worldwide.

According to astronomical calculations, Muslims in Egypt will attend the Eid Al-Adha prayers for this Islamic year, 1444, at around 5:16 a.m Cairo Local Time (CLT).

The four days of the Eid El-Adha are always declared holidays for the public and private sectors.
