Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy held a virtual meeting with the Swedish Medical Products Agency Director General Ann Lindberg, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
During their meeting, he affirmed the importance of exchanging technical regulatory expertise to develop Egypt’s pharmaceutical system and align it with global standards, including supporting efforts to get World Health Organization (WHO) accreditation.
They discussed enhancing cooperation, improving regulatory systems, and sharing best practices.
Ghamrawy emphasized the importance of building human and technical capacities in Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector, saying cooperation with Sweden enhances efficiency, quality, and safety.
The Swedish side hailed Egypt’s progress and expressed support for deeper cooperation.
They also discussed joint priorities and steps to revitalize a cooperation protocol aimed at improving pharmaceutical regulation and ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective medical products.
